Professional guide focused on Intel Core Ultra 7 or higher, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD, upgradability, official stores and real-world use for work, programming, AI, design, webdesign and Claude Code Desktop.
Minimum professional criteria
Every model in this comparison passed this filter — no exceptions. This is what separates a work purchase from a regret six months later.
Intel Core Ultra 7 or higher
Core Ultra 7, Core Ultra 9, or higher generations. Regular Core i7, Core 7 (without "Ultra"), Core i5, or AMD processors do not make this comparison — the criterion is strict by design, because the Core Ultra line brings a dedicated NPU (local AI), real power efficiency, and meaningful multi-core gains for running an IDE, browser, Docker, and AI agents at the same time.
24GB of RAM minimum
Real professional workflows — IDE, browser with dozens of tabs, Git, Docker, LocalWP, Figma/Photoshop, and AI agents like Claude Code running in parallel — eat memory fast. 16GB is yesterday's theoretical minimum; 24GB is the new professional floor, 32GB is comfortably ideal.
1TB of SSD minimum
OS, IDEs, Docker images, projects, AI libraries, and build caches eat up space fast. 512GB becomes a bottleneck in under a year of intense professional use — 1TB is the minimum, not the "ideal".
Upgradeable vs. soldered RAM and SSD
Upgradeable RAM (SODIMM slots) and a swappable SSD (M.2 with a free slot) extend the laptop's useful life and allow upgrades without replacing the whole machine. Soldered/integrated RAM (common in premium ultraportables) locks the configuration to what shipped from the factory — good for compactness, bad for longevity. We flag this for every model.
Why buy from the official store
The brand's official store guarantees a correct invoice, full national warranty, exact configuration (no swapped parts), and a direct support channel. Marketplaces and unauthorized resellers appear in this comparison only as context, never as the main recommendation.

How each brand positions itself once the filter is Core Ultra 7+, 24GB and 1TB — no half-truths.
Samsung
Premium design and top-tier AMOLED display — but no stock today on the models that meet the criteria.
- 2 Galaxy Book4 Ultra configurations meet Core Ultra 7+/32GB/1TB
- Both out of stock at the official store for at least 2 months (same status since May 2026)
- RAM is always soldered on this line — no Samsung option with upgradeable memory
- Galaxy Book5 (Core Ultra Series 2) has not yet reached the Brazilian catalog
Dell
The brand with the most real options — in stock, publicly priced, and with upgradeable RAM.
- 5 qualified models available for direct purchase today
- The only brand with real SODIMM RAM slots (Pro Max, Alienware) — genuine physical upgrade
- Qualified price range: R$ 22,899 to R$ 47,999
- Top-tier Pro Max Premium and Precision lines require a corporate quote
HP
The direct-sale lineup in Brazil hasn't reached the Core Ultra 7 + 24GB + 1TB bar yet.
- No directly-purchasable model on the official site meets all 3 criteria today
- HP EliteBook 840 G11 (Ultra 7) comes close, but sits at 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD
- ZBook Fury G1i and ZBook 8 G1i would have specs to spare, but are "Coming soon" — no SKU or price
- The consumer OmniBook line isn't even sold by HP in Brazil

Upgrade and lifespan
Today's most expensive notebook can be the cheapest one in three years — if it can be upgraded.
Soldered / integrated RAM
Common in premium ultraportables (LPDDR5x). Faster and more power-efficient, but the factory configuration is final — buy with headroom from day one.
SODIMM-slot RAM
Lets you swap or add modules later. Common in 16"+ notebooks and workstation lines — the better choice if you want to extend the machine's lifespan.
M.2 NVMe SSD
Practically standard on current professional notebooks. Check whether there's a second free slot — that lets you double the storage without replacing the original drive.
💡 Rule of thumb: if the budget allows, buy the RAM/SSD configuration you'll need two years from now, not just today.
Best for Claude Code Desktop
The official docs list 4GB of RAM as the technical minimum — that is not enough for a real professional routine.
Why: IDE + a browser with dozens of tabs + Git + Docker + LocalWP + Figma/Photoshop + multiple AI agent sessions running at once eat memory fast. A laptop running "at the edge" becomes a daily productivity bottleneck.
- Dell Pro Max 16 with 32GB — best cost-benefit with upgradeable RAM
- Dell Pro Max 16 Plus with 64GB — if you also need heavy local AI
- Dell XPS 14 with 32GB — if mobility is the priority
Where to buy safely
In this order, always prioritizing the brand's official channel.
